We have lost, Clair Smith from Council 6197

Please Keep Him in Your Prayers.

Chapter Vice President
John Norwood

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
John, you may have already heard, but Clair Smith passed away today.
It was fairly sudden, as he attended our last meeting.
He was admitted into the hospital a week ago, and got news he had cancer.
I was blessed to have spoken to him yesterday.
He was a Past Grand Knight, Financial Secretary, and currently, Advocate.
He was also 4th Degree and part of the Color Guard with the Centennial Assembly.
He was a tireless, active member in our council.
He has mentored me since I joined the Knights, and I will miss him greatly.
Sincerely, Tim O'Neil, Grand Knight, Council 6197.
8/20/2007 Sam Mussro Sr - Sam has been a very active member in St John's parish and very instrumental in developing both the St Vincent DePaul organization at the parish and the Junior St Vincent DePaul program at the school. At the age of 93 he has recently been diagnosed with terminal cancer.  On Friday he completed his 5th in a series of radiation treatments in an effort to reduce the discomfort of many large tumors on his head and spine. Based on the diagnosis, it was estimated that he probably has between 2-3 months remaining.  And even with all this going on in his life, he still managed to occupy his traditional 4th row seat at the 8:00 am Mass this morning.  If it wasn't for his total involvement with the SVdeP program in Carmichael and previously in the Los Angeles area he would have made one heck of a Knight. Most of the SJE members know Sam (and his many, many words each time you met with him....all amazing works he has accomplished for the church in his life). A great Catholic and he will be a big time loss particularly the youth program at the parish.
As she is no longer suffering great pains she has been released from the hospital and is at home.
