Subject: Divine Mercy Sunday
Two bishops, two
Divine Mercy celebrations
On March 30 Bishop Weigand will be the
celebrant at the Divine Mercy Sunday mass at the Cathedral and
Bishop Soto will preside at a Divine Mercy Sunday mass at Divine
Mercy Parish.
The Cathedral events start at 2:15 with
confessions, Divine Mercy Chaplet, mass at 3pm, adoration of the
Divine Mercy image and a blessing with the relic of St. Faustina.
Divine Mercy Parish will have mass at
11:30 am with a special blessing of two chalices donated by the 4th
degree Knights of Columbus. One chalice will be for Divine Mercy
Support Network masses throughout the year and the other one will be
presented to Father Cesar, Pastor of Divine Mercy Parish. Mass will
be followed by a pot luck lunch with Divine Mercy cake and ice cream
provided by the Network.
The Cathedral is located at 11th
and K St. in downtown Sacramento (please park on the street or in
the 10th and L St. garage). Divine Mercy Parish meets at
Natomas Park Elementary School, 4700 Crest
Drive, Sacramento (Del Paso Rd exit south of the airport).
If you like, you can take in both
celebrations and make a Divine Mercy day of it! And don't forget
the annual Divine Mercy Congress in Oakland this weekend (http://www.divinemercywestcoast.org).
Have a blessed Easter and Divine
Mercy Sunday.
