Corpus Christi Fourth Degree Assembly

Vocations Notes

November, 2008

Deacon Jacobo Caceres will be ordained as a priest for service in the Sacramento Diocese at the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral on Friday, November 21st at 10:30 AM.  Pray for Father Jacobo as he begins his priestly ministry.

As everyone is aware, Bishop William Wiegand is retiring at the end of November. The Diocese is hosting a dinner to honor Bishop Wiegand at the Radisson Hotel on Monday, November 24th. Tickets can be obtained through the Pastoral Center, Phone #733-0100. The Bishop will celebrate a Mass of Thanksgiving on November 30th at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacramento.  Pray for both Bishop Wiegand and Bishop Soto during this time of transition.

Our assembly is supporting seminarian Nelson Usuga financially and spiritually.  Nelson is a second year Theology student studying at St. Patrick’s Seminary in Menlo Park, CA for ministry in the Diocese of Sacramento. He is originally from Canasgordas, Antioquia, Columbia. In addition to your prayers for Nelson, please include him on your Christmas card list. His address is:

St. Patrick Seminary

320 Middlefield Road

Menlo Park, CA 94025

While we are blessed with many wonderful priests in our parishes and in the Diocese, the world is in need of many more priests to spread The Good News and to minister the Sacraments. Continue to pray that more men respond to God’s Call.
